After a wave of requests from our audiences, we are thrilled to announce that everyone’s favourite ogre is returning to our stage from 10 March – 19 April 2026.
This stage production is based on the award-winning DreamWorks movie that we all know and love. We have a fresh, high-energy vision that brings the swamp to life like never before.
In a faraway kingdom, the green ogre, Shrek, finds his swamp invaded by banished fairy tale misfits—runaways cast off by the "tiny terror" Lord Farquaad. To get his home back, Shrek strikes a deal to rescue the feisty Princess Fiona from a dragon-guarded tower. Accompanied by a wise-cracking Donkey, Shrek embarks on a journey that proves beauty is truly in the eye of the ogre. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek JR. is an irreverently fun show.
We’ve levelled up the production value to ensure this "big bright beautiful world" is more dazzling than ever; a brand-new cast, meet a fresh ensemble of talented performers bringing new voices, new humour, and new heart to the entire fairy tale gang, dynamic new choreography: our dance numbers have been completely redesigned, expect high-energy sequences and show-stopping routines that will have you dancing in your seat, lighting and sound, experience the magic of the dragon’s lair and Farquaad’s kingdom with a new lighting and sound design incorporated with imaginative set and costume elements.
